Send customers unique, direct messages

The customer page in the dashboard is extended to include a new view where a custom, unique message can be crafted and delivered to the customer.

Messages sent to customers and vendors from the dashboard can also include attachments so you can send customers files quickly and conveniently. EDD Message also integrates with our Amazon S3 extension so files can be selected from your S3 buckets and used as attachments.

Log all unique messages sent to customers

EDD Message keeps a record of all the messages that have been sent for you to reference in the future. Messages sent to a specific customer are visible on the Message view for that customer and a table of all logged messages is included in Reports – > Logs.

Support for Frontend Submissions

For Frontend Submissions users, this extension is even more useful. EDD Message has been designed to work perfectly with Frontend Submissions so marketplace store owners can not only communicate better with vendors, but vendors can also be given the ability to message their own customers.

Interested in keeping a record of the emails sent through your digital store? EDD Message includes settings with which you can select the types of messages to keep a record of. When any of those settings are checked, a log of all messages of the selected type will be stored so that you can view them later. These message types include:

• Administrator to customers or vendors
• Purchase receipts
• Vendor messages to customers (requires Frontend Submissions)
• Customer messages to vendors (requires Frontend Submissions)

Does Gravity Forms for EDD support subscription payments?

Not at this time.

Can customers access their purchase history for purchases made through Gravity Forms Checkout?

Yes, purchases are stored in exactly the same way, regardless of which method customers use to purchase the product(s). If customers have an account, they will be able to access their complete purchase history and download links from their account page.

Can I use the Gravity Forms add-ons, such as MailChimp or User Registration with Gravity Forms Checkout?

Yes, Gravity Forms Checkout works perfectly with all Gravity Forms add-ons.

Can I use standard EDD payment gateways with Gravity Forms Checkout?

No, since the purchase process is handled through Gravity Forms, you need to use one of the payment add-ons for Gravity Forms.

Can I use discount codes with Gravity Forms Checkout?

The standard EDD discount codes do not work with Gravity Forms Checkout, but the Coupons add-on for Gravity Forms works perfectly.

How do customers get their download links?

After completing the purchase, customers are sent a purchase receipt via email containing all download links and purchase information. This is the same purchase receipt that EDD sends for the standard checkout procedure. Using the receipt_link template tag in the emails, you can also allow customers to view the receipt and download links directly on the website.

Can I use the EDD tax system with this?

No, the EDD tax options are not supported for purchases made through Gravity Forms Checkout.

What version of Easy Digital Downloads and Gravity Forms is required?

If you develop for the web, chances are you manage your code in git. Once your code is ready to deploy, updating your EDD download usually entails downloading a zip, renaming the main folder, removing un-needed files, and then re-zipping and uploading. This process can be time consuming, especially if you maintain multiple sites or lots of downloads.

The Git Download Updater extension automates this process for your code that lives on GitHub and BitBucket. Instead of manually updating your download for release, you select the repo and version tag, and the plugin does the rest. It updates the download file and sets the proper file names.

If you use the Software Licensing, this extension can also automatically update the version number and changelog (requires that you use readme.txt parsing).
