Interactive buttons

An integration with Slack and your digital store doesn’t have to be one direction only. It is also now possible to send commands from Slack back to your EDD site! With interactive buttons, notifications sent to your Slack channel will include an option for you to take action immediately from Slack without having to login to your site.

Currently supported buttons include:

• New comment on download: Approve or Mark as Spam
• New vendor application (requires Frontend Submissions): Approve or Reject
• New vendor submission (requires Frontend Submissions): Approve or Reject

Slash Commands

Slack comes with a lot of amazing features and this integration with Easy Digital Downloads takes advantage of more than a few. One unique and powerful feature is Slash Commands. Slash Commands in Slack allow for a command to be entered and a custom response to be returned.

The EDD Slack extension currently supports the following Slash Commands:

• /edd help – returns a list of all available commands and their parameters.
• /edd sales period – returns a sales summary for the given period (today, yesterday, this_month, last_month, etc.)
• /edd version – Outputs the current version of Easy Digital Downloads.
• /edd discount –  Outputs information about a Discount Code. This can also be used to create new Discount Codes.
• /edd customer – Outputs information about a Customer.

These commands and the many more which are coming in future updates will allow useful data to be instantly retrieved right within Slack.

Automated Team Invites

Have you ever considered engaging your customers or vendors directly with a private Slack community? Well now you can! EDD Slack includes a feature for automatically inviting customers and vendors to your private Slack team. This makes it possible to effectively sell access to a private Slack group!

When configured, customers will see an option to join your Slack team during the purchase process and vendors will during registration. It is also possible to manually invite vendors and customers while viewing their profiles right from your dashboard.

Note: Interactive buttons, Slash Commands and team invites require that your site have SSL enabled.

Add support for shipping simple physical products

Easy Digital Downloads is built specifically for selling digital products, but some people love the plugin so much that they want to use it for selling physical products as well. For this reason, we have built the Simple Shipping extension that adds some simple shipping features to Easy Digital Downloads.

This extension is designed primarily for those people selling mostly digital products (as EDD is designed to do) with a few physical products on the site, perhaps DVD versions of your video downloads, or perhaps CDs of downloadable audio files. Perhaps even t-shirts to complement your digital brand.

With this extension you can easily collect shipping info from your customers during checkout, set shipping rates for domestic and international orders, and mark payments as being shipped or not.

Shipping can be enabled on a per-product basis and can even be enabled on a per-price basis for products with multiple price options.

To make shipping orders even easier, a new option to export all unshipped orders is also added to the Downloads → Reports → Export screen.

Running a marketplace? Simple Shipping includes complete support for our Frontend Submissions extension.

Does Simple Shipping integrate with my preferred shipping company?

No, Simple Shipping doesn’t integrate with any shipping company. It simply collects the shipping location address and then the store owner is responsible for all shipping details.

Can I have variable shipping costs by weight?

No, Simple Shipping is flat rate only.

Can I have variable shipping costs by size?

No, Simple Shipping has no mechanism for dealing with product size.

Can I have variable shipping costs by distance?

No, Simple Shipping is flat rate only.

Can I charge a different rate for domestic and international shipping?

Yes, a single flat rate for domestic and a single flat rate for international.

Can Vendors set Shipping rates through Front End Submissions?

Yes.

Are shipping fees included in tax?

Can I send tracking numbers and shipping confirmations to my customers?

Yes, tracking numbers can be added to each order and an email confirmation can be sent to the customer with the tracking numbers.

Add Product Reviews for customer feedback.

Reviews for Easy Digital Downloads makes it quick and easy for your visitors and customers to review the products offered on your website.

Customer reviews can be enabled or disabled on each product individually and options are included to control exactly who can leave reviews on products. Reviews can be limited to verified customers, logged-in users, or even left open to everyone. Review submissions also include a moderation queue, giving store owners protection against spam and abuse.

Store owners are given a complete management interface for moderating, approving, deleting, and replying to product reviews from within the WordPress admin area.

Provide incentives to reviewers

To encourage customers to both leave reviews and purchase additional products, the Reviews extensions includes an option to incentivize customers to leave reviews by automatically sending the customer a discount code after a review is submitted.

Request a review

To help encourage customers to leave reviews on products they purchased, automated emails can be configured that get sent to customers after a successful purchase. Emails can be sent immediately after purchase or after a delay of several days.

The email sent to customers is fully customizable to provide store owners with complete control over the text and branding of the emails.

Integration with Frontend Submissions

Reviews integrates with Frontend Submissions by allowing all customers to submit feedback about the vendors of the products.

After making a purchase, if any of the products in that purchase were created by a FES vendor, customers can leave feedback for them. This allows store administrators and vendors to easily see what they’ve done well and what could be better.

Additional features

HTML5 Microdata – All reviews include HTML5 microdata for Schema.org, allowing Google and other search engines to pick up and display the product reviews in search results.

Enforce word limits – Minimum and maximum word limits can be set which are enforced on the content of the review (e.g. minimum of 50 words but a maximum of 200 words).

Easily embed reviews – Reviews comes with shortcodes and widgets which allow you easily embed reviews into posts and pages.

Close and disable reviews on a per-download basis – Reviews can be closed or disabled on downloads; disabling them will not show any reviews whatsoever. However, closing reviews will stop any new reviews from being accepted.

This extension allows you to create automated discounts that give your paid subscribers a special discount on all Easy Digital Downloads purchases. You can also exclude certain products and/or product categories from the automated discounts.

Want to give your “Platinum Level” subscribers a 10% discount on all shop purchases? That’s easy. Want to give a 5% discount to all “Gold Level” subscribers? That’s easy as well.

Resend purchase receipts with no authentication.

The Resend Receipt extension for Easy Digital Downloads allows your customers to resend their purchase receipts directly from your website without logging into their account. This is a great addition for stores that allow guest purchases, or do not want to require their users to log in, to be able to get a new copy of their receipt.

Resend Receipt supports retrieving customer purchases by the following information:

• Purchase Key
• Payment ID
• License Key (requires Software Licensing)

When logged out of their account, visitors can be presented with a form to enter the necessary information to have their receipt resent to the email address they used at the time purchase.

• Optionally, site owners can also receive email notifications when a customer requests a receipt be resent.

Show recommended products based on other customer purchases.

Recommended Products for Easy Digital Downloads allows you to show a cross sell of recommended products when viewing downloads or the checkout screen, with just a couple of checkboxes. These aren’t “related products” but specifically chosen products based off your stores previous sales. Every night, the recommendations are refreshed to include the day’s sales. You can manually run the update script as well via the Easy Digital Downloads Extensions Settings page.

• Fully Templatable – Don’t like the built in templates? That’s okay, add your template to the edd_templates folder of your theme and you can style your own recommendations pod.
• Integrates with Easy Digital Downloads Settings – No new settings pages to learn. Just use the Settings page and click on the ‘Extensions’ tab.
• Imports pre-existing sales – If you’ve been using Easy Digital Downloads for a while, that’s ok. Upon activation Recommended Products looks through your past sales and determines the recommendations.
